Bankhead Project Website
Class Website

This semester, Taylor had the opportunity and pleasure of designing the websites for both the Bankhead At 100: Bricks that Connected a Nation project as well as the class website for displaying and explaining individual team member's work.

For the Bankhead at 100 Project, the website needed to be highly interactive, fun and informative for visitors of the exhibit. The main page has a simple, streamling design, featuring a main introduction to the project, with a picture of the road and the title. An About section explains the rich and inviting history available to interested individuals and highlights what the exhibit will be about.

Beneathe the About section is an interactive information area featuring seven images that, when clicked, lead to different parts of the website that discuss some more key information included in our exhibit. These sections include military involvement with the Bankhead, crime and culture, mapping the original route, the creation of the Texas Department of Transportation and the Texas Forts Trail region.

Finally, the last area is information about the exhibit and who to contact for more information. It features a map that easily changes the location displayed, below which is a calendar of where the exhibit will be and when.

It was fun to design and because of the field trips she was able to go on and the information sections on the main website, she learned a lot about the Bankhead Highway's history.

The class website to display each team member's piece of the project needed to have a simple, clean design that still was fun and colorful. The main page was laid out and designed by hand using many of the "sticker" images available with Wix. One of her favorite parts of designing this website was coordinating color schemes.

Overall, Taylor learned a lot this semester-- largely about the Bankhead Highway and website design, but also about how to interact in large team settings with people of all different backgrounds and ideas about the project.
